One of the most important, is the amount of hay that is provided in the diet, and secondly the type of hay that is used. Lucern Hay or Alfa Alfa hay is good for juvenile rabbits, but too high in calories and calcium for adult rabbits. Adult Rabbits and Guinea Pigs should be moved to either timothy hay, oaten hay or simillar low calorie hays. Hay is important as it provides the fibre required as well as helping keep the teeth nice and trim.
